Who we are

A look back to the early 80’s finds company founder, Steve, behind the school drum kit on a day the music teacher decided to give everyone in the class a crack at it. The realization of the absolute coolness of performance was immediately evident. Out the window went the baritone horn and Jacobs became a percussionist. This led to the inevitable high school rock band and several ensuing bands of many genres. Later, playing every weekend to support the college of music degree led to expanding his knowledge in audio production for his own groups, then taking on audio gigs for other events.

After attaining a Bachelors Degree in Percussion, and while working a full-time career in sales, Steve dedicated many hours in his garage (and those of friends and family) designing his PA systems, With support of family and knowledgeable friends, the company began to grow and take on a more serious role.

Tallying more than 30 years of existence, and with more passion than ever, Sound Creations provides complete audio and lighting production and is fortunate enough to have the most amazing crew. The team never turned down a gig along the way! The days were long, and the efforts were entirely fulfilling. The stories are magnificent and many of the same original crew are spinning new tales and embellishing the old at our events today.

The entire family have invested great efforts participating throughout the years and have discovered this is definitely a career that chooses you, but not often one that is outright chosen by an individual. The oldest and the “middlest” of the four Jacobs kids got sweet-talked into joining the crew by dad’s promise of unlimited fun (and money). They were subjected to a healthy dose of working production crew— enough to gain a thorough respect for those behind the scenes, and also enough to motivate them to seek out their own paths to success. The other two holdouts were not that easy to con but have participated and supported Sound Creations in countless ways nonetheless (such as designing and managing the website!)
